Rain, trailer and a crankpot

Hubby and I could not wait to take our trailer to Mt. Hood for our second camping trip of the summer. We busily packed our traveling-abode with clothes, snacks, swimming gear, dog supplies and hit the open road. We were excited to unplug, unwind and relax … however that wasn’t in the cards for us. From the moment we pulled into camping spot 12 Nug was less than amused.

My little baby transformed into a crankpot before my exhausted eyes. Nugget is usually a very happy and content baby. She fills her days with crawling, playing, dog chasing and babbling. On our adventure she filled her days with whining … something about the trailer really irked her.

As long as she was out of the tiny space she was happy! We took a beautiful hike, explored the campground, went fishing and toured Timberline Lodge. However by the end of the third day I was practically begging my husband to call the trip and go home. We were going on very little sleep and the rain was coming so outdoor activities would be limited.

We decided to stick it out and stay. We made a fire, ate smores and let Nug do her thing. Turns out she loves graham crackers and the fire mesmerized her. Even though our second trip was a little rougher than our first … it was nice to get out of the house. Sometimes you have to roll with the whines … I mean punches.
