Where did my newborn go?

It feels like it happened overnight … crawling, climbing and teething. Life will never be the same in the T-Witt household. Gone are the days of leaving Nug in the living room basically motionless while I switched laundry, used the restroom, worked or made a coffee. Now I have a little shadow that follows me everywhere.

The change in mobility happened so fast! I was not prepared to baby proof and of course the first thing she found interesting was electrical sockets. She’s already started working on standing/walking and I can feel my baby slipping away. Watching her change, grow, explore and gain confidence has been the most rewarding experience of my life.

However each passing phase brings little growing pains. I miss holding my newborn and losing myself in the predawn hours. I miss her tiny little cry, long naps and teeny clothes. It’s true what they say … the days are long but the years are short. I’ll spend the rest of my life in awe of the little woman that she was, is and becomes. Now excuse while I cry into her newborn clothes.

Oh this gives me all the feels!!! I was feeling this way last night! Being a parent is like this constant feeling of bittersweetness. Because you are sometimes longing for the next phase and then it happens and to miss the old stage.. and them being tiny 😭😭😭
